Wholesale electricity prices fell by over 70 per cent in the 12 months to August this year.
While the cost of wholesale electricity increased by 10 per cent in the month to August, they were 72 per cent lower in August of this year, when compared to the same time last year.
The CSO also says the cost of producing food products fell overall, but fruit and veg increased by 15 per cent.
Producer prices for drinks and clothing were also up.
