Become a Newbridge SVP Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver
Could You Spare a Little Time to Make a Big Difference?
Every weekday, Newbridge SVP Meals on Wheels Service delivers 55–60 hot meals
to older members of the community. For many recipients, this visit provides
not only a nutritious meal but also a friendly face, reassurance
and an important connection with the outside world.
To help continue this vital community service, Newbridge SVP is seeking
volunteer drivers.

Halverstown Cricket Club is recruiting an adult women's cricket team.
The club has two girl’s Under 13 and Under 15 teams shared with North Kildare.
There will be an information evening at 7.00 pm on Thursday 30th July, together with some basic coaching,
at the Halverstown cricket ground at Brannockstown W91T8P3

ContacShare Food, the Newbridge Parish food bank, is appealing for donations of food.
Share Food has been operating in Newbridge for 13 years
and distributes 120 food parcels each week to people in need.
The group welcomes all kinds of tinned and packaged food as well as toiletries.
They are currently short of most foodstuffs such as canned fruit, meat and fish;
tea and coffee; curry and pasta sauces; sugar, soup, jam, biscuits, crackers and cereals.
Donations can be given at collection points in Newbridge at Dunnes Stores, Tesco and SuperValu,
as well as at the three churches - St. Conleth’s, Cill Mhuire and the Dominican church.

Clane and Rathcoffey Parish weekly lotto
Every Tuesday night in the Parish Centre, Main Street, Clane, at 8.00pm.
Tickets €2 each and the proceeds of the parish lotto support the running of the parish.
The current jackpot is €6,400 and there are 5 X €50 draws on the tickets each week.
Tickets can be purchased online here or from local community promoters and supporting businesses.

Barrowhouse Harvest Run,
Barrowhouse Running Club is hosting the Barrowhouse Harvest Run, a chip-timed community 5km road race and fundraiser for Barrowhouse GAA Club,
Wednesday 29th July 2026 at 7pm.
The race starts and finishes at Barrowhouse GAA Clubhouse, just five minutes outside Athy.
The event is open to runners, joggers, and walkers of all abilities. Entry is €15 for adults, €10 for under-18s, and €30 for a family (2 adults and 2 children).
On-the-day registration is available, but advance sign-up online here is strongly encouraged.
