Taxi Driver Numbers Are Expected To Drop

However Jim Waldron expresses that the lack of cabs is not the fault of the taxi drivers

New research conducted by Arup for the 'Taxis for Ireland Coalition' has revealed that TAXI driver numbers are expected to drop as population numbers continue to rise .

The Coalition also recommends that the NTA should review SPSV numbers on a county-by-county basis due to a reduction in taxi numbers in 23 out of 26 counties from 2019 to 2023.

Jim Waldron spokesperson for the National Private Hire and Taxi association says lack of cabs is not the fault of the taxi drivers.
