The building is next door to the Ashling hotel, the interior appears to have sustained significant damage and one of the upstairs windows is broken.

Gardaí were alerted to the blaze at around quarter past nine this morning and remain at the scene - several fire brigade units left before midday.

The building remains cordoned off as investigations continue.

Luas services have resumed after halting earlier this morning, however commuters should expect delays.
