Personnel serving with UNTSO, UNDOF and UNIFIL
The Department of Defence says: "The Irish personnel serving as UN Observers with UNTSO in Israel, Lebanon and Syria are maintaining a high level of vigilance.
"They are all safe and complying with UN security precautions.
There are 13 Defence Forces personnel serving in this region
The Department says: “Irish troops of the 68th Infantry Group maintain a high degree of vigilance and continue to monitor the situation and there are 116 personnel serving with UNDOF."
"The Irish troops of the 122nd Infantry Battalion in UNIFIL in Lebanon went into Groundhog (shelter in protected positions) yesterday at 1.25pm and continue to monitor the situation from protected positions."
