HSE Expects Significant Increase In Demand For Covid Tests Onces Schools Re-Open.

Up to 15,000 tests are being carried out at HSE testing sites each day

The head of the HSE's test and trace programme says it's expecting a significant increase in demand next month once schools reopen.

Up to 15,000 tests are being carried out at HSE testing sites each day, with roughly 70 percent of those self-referrals.

Ireland's positivity rate currently stands at 9 percent - up from 2.4 at the start of July.

Niamh O'Beirne says she expects an increase in the numbers presenting for tests over the coming weeks
