It will have the brief of building trust in the technology, while also providing independent advice on AI policy.

A new progress report, being published today, will outline a number of priorities for the coming year, including the implementation of guidelines for the use of AI in the public sector.

Junior Minister Dara Calleary hopes EU legislation aimed at tackling issues created by AI will be enacted by next Spring at the latest:
