Local Councillor Evie Sammon criticises year-long hold-up as pedestrian safety works fail to progress
Naas councillor Evie Sammon has raised concerns about delays in delivering key infrastructure projects in the area.
She pointed to a pedestrian crossing planned for Naas that has been delayed for over a year despite funding being in place.
€50,000 from the Local Property Tax was earmarked for the crossing near the Meadows & Byrne store on the Dublin Road.
However, a year on, no design drawings have been completed and the funding remains unused.
Cllr. Sammon says why she appreciates that there has been some staff changes within the council and that can lead to delays but is frustrated that projects are approved and funded, but fail to progress:
