Concerns have been raised about the M4 bridge in Maynooth

A Fianna Fáil councillor has urged Kildare County Council (KCC) to write to Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

Speaking on Kildare Today on Wednesday, Cllr Naoise Ó Cearúil said that he wanted the TII to explore the implementation of 'a safe option' for pedestrians crossing the M4 Bridge at Straffan Road, Maynooth.

His motion, which was heard at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting on Thursday, April 6, was supported by Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney and Fine Gael Cllr Tim Durkan.

Cllr Ó Cearúil told KCC that many people who work in the nearby business campus are finding it hard to cross the road to get to the area.

After hearing his points, KCC agreed to write to the TII about the issue outlined by Cllr Ó Cearúil.
