Kildare has some of the highest number of work-related injuries
Kildare has some of the highest number of work-related injuries and illnesses reported along with Dublin and Cork.
A ceremony took place this morning at the Garden of Remembrance, to commemorate people who've died, were injured, made ill or bereaved through work-related accidents.
The gathering was organized by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and the Health and Safety Authority, supported by several industry groups.
Some 2,162 people reported workplace accidents in the first quarter of this year - an increase of around 3% compared to 2023.
