Just Three Rentals Available Through HAP In Kildare

No properties were available for a single person/couples through discretionary HAP rates in Kildare.

There were just three properties within the discretionary rate of the Housing Assistance Payment Scheme (HAP) available to rent in Kildare.

According to the Simon Communities of Ireland’s quarterly Locked Out of the Market report for October 2024, just 33 homes were available through HAP across 16 local authority areas.

In 12 of the 16 areas, there were no properties available to rent within either the standard or discretionary HAP limits.

No properties were available for a single person/couples through discretionary HAP rates in Kildare.

Just 16 properties were available through discretionary HAP rates, almost all of which were in Dublin except for two in Kildare.

For households with one or two parents and two children, there was only one property available at the standard HAP rate in Dublin City Centre.

However, 22 properties were available through discretionary HAP rates, with 16 of these overlapping with properties also suitable for families with one child.

The remaining six properties were located in Kildare (one), Dublin City North (one), Dublin City South (three), and Dublin City Centre (one).
