Springboks Too Strong As England's Losing Run Continues

South Africa defeat England 45-21 in Johannesburg, condemning Steve Borthwick's side to a fifth consecutive Test defeat.

South Africa made a powerful start to their Nations Championship campaign with a convincing 45-21 victory over England at Ellis Park.

The Springboks raced into an early 17-point lead before England fought back through tries from Ellis Genge and George Martin to reduce the deficit before half-time.

However, the world champions took control after the break, crossing for four more tries to secure an emphatic win.

England's task became even tougher late on after Tommy Freeman and Guy Pepper were both shown yellow cards.

The defeat marks England's fifth successive Test loss, while South Africa open their campaign with an impressive bonus-point victory.
