3 goals in opening quarter of 2nd half; Full time Kildare 3-21 Antrim 0-20
Kildare scored three goals in the opening 15 minutes of the second half to record a thoroughly deserved 10 points win over Antrim at Cedral St Conleth's Park.
Kfm Player of the Match Muiris Curtin scored two and created one.
He was the provider for opening goal in the 39th minute to the James Dolan, who then finished to the top corner of the net.
The first of Muiris Curth's goals came 8 minutes later, Cian Boran delivered a long, high ball towards in the goal Curtin won possession and sent a perfect shot to the top corner .
He got his second 90 seconds later. Cathal Dowling flicked the ball off the ground with his foot into the path of Curtin and Curtin shook the net again.
He nearly had a hat-trick in the 62nd minute but the Antrim goalie stuck out a foot to make the block.
Davy Fitzgerald’s team started well and led 0-6 to 0-4 after 15 minutes, but Kildare eventually built a 0-14 to 0-11 half time lead .
And, those 3 2nd half goals, plus 7 points gave Kildare a huge win and their opening Division 1B win. They host Clare on Saturday February 21st at 6.30 and will relish tha game.
