GAA

A key weekend for 3 Kildare football clubs who contest Leinster semi finals tomorrow.

Beginning at 1.30pm: the Leinster Intermediate football semi final: Sallins away to Kilbride (Meath) in Navan

Also at 1.30pm: the Leinster Junior football semi final: Grangenolvin vs Cloughbawn (Wexford) which has been switched to Manguard Park, Hawkfield.

Kfm's coverage of both games will be in association with All Spare's Kildare Ballysax, The Curragh.

Then, at 5pm:  The Leinster Senior football semi final: Athy play Summerhill (Meath) in Cedral St. Conleths Park

Kfm will have full commentary with Seamus Dillon and former All Star Kildare defender Peter Kelly, in association with Pat Keogh Skoda, Ballybrittas.

This morning's Kildare Today with Hannah Kelly will preview the three games and, from 6.25 this evening the Weekend Sport Preview will include manager and player interviews and a preview of the rest of the weekend Kildare sport.

SOCCER

The Republic of Ireland remain in contention for a place at next summer's World Cup after last night's 2-nil win over Portugal at the Aviva Stadium.

Troy Parrott scored both goals for the hosts as they secured a memorable win to keep their hopes alive.

Ireland now need to beat Hungary on Sunday in their final group game to earn at least a play off.

Hungary beat Armenia by a goal to nil last night.
 

The Republic of Ireland under-17s enter the knockout phase at the World Cup later today.

There's a quarter past three start for their last 32 encounter with Canada in Doha.

This evening, the under-21s are in action.

They face England at St Andrew's in Birmingham from 7.45.

RUGBY

The Ireland under-20s begin life under new head coach Andrew Browne this evening.

They face their South African counterparts at Virgin Media Park, where kickoff is at half 7


RACING

There's a seven-race card on the all-weather at Dundalk this evening.

The first goes to post at 5:30pm.
