Waterford's Thomas Barr is through to the semi-finals of the 400-metres hurdles.

The 29-year-old, who was fourth in the event at the Rio Games, was second in his heat.

Sophie Becker, Phil Healy, Cillin Greene and Christopher O’Donnell go into the mixed 4-by-400-metres relay heats at midday.
