TDs and Senators Will Not Be Provided With Free Antigen Tests

Business Committee told politicians would have access to free testing.

The Houses of the Oireachtas has said antigen tests will not be provided free to TDs and Senators.

That's despite Business Committee members being briefed this morning politicians would have access to free testing.

The Oireachtas - which is independent of Government - says free tests will be provided to staff who have to be on site such as ushers, caterers and others.

TDs and Senators will still be required to pay for antigen testing.

Ceann Comhairle Sean O Fearghail clashed with Social Democrat TD Gary Gannon on the issue in the Dáil

Kildare North TD James Lawless told Ciara Noble on Thursday's Kildare Focus that he is happy to pay for his own antigen test.
