Growth was particularly strong in household goods
Retail spending in Dublin increased by 5.1% in the second quarter of this year.
That compares to figures from January to March, however when compared with the same period last year, it's up by just over 17 per cent.
Dublin City Council describes that period as "the lowest ebb for the domestic economy".
The MasterCard SpendingPulse, carried out on behalf of the four Dublin Local Authorities, shows growth was particularly strong in household goods, entertainment, and discretionary spending.
