Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
A man in his late 20s has died after a stabbing in Cork.
Gardai were called to the scene at Sea View in Carrigaline at about 3.30am where they found the man with serious stab wounds.
He was treated at the scene but died shortly afterwards.
His remains are still there this morning, and the State Pathologist has been notified.
The scene has been preserved for examinations today.
Elsewhere, Gardai have also been notified that a man in his mid 70s attended Cork University Hospital with stab wounds and is in a serious condition today.
A 42 year old man has been arrested and has been detained at Gurranabraher Garda Station.
Gardai at Togher Station are appealing for witnesses to these attacks, especially anyone who was about Carrigaline or Passage West in the early hours of this morning.
