Man Arrested Over GSOC Hutch Controversy Released Without Charge

File image: Rolling News

His arrest follows the resignation in recent days of a GSOC investigator

A man arrested in connection with the investigation into the attendance of a GSOC investigator at a party celebrating Gerry Hutch's acquittal of murder has been released without charge.

The man in his 60s was arrested yesterday by detectives from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation on suspicion of disclosing information.

His arrest follows the resignation in recent days of a GSOC investigator who's alleged to have been at a party at which Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch attended, hours after being found not guilty of the 2016 murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel.

The man has now been released, and file will be sent to the DPP.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
