There are currently low levels of wind power being generated
An amber alert has been issued for the electricity system by the Single Electricity Market Operator (SEMO).
An amber alert acts as an early warning when there is the possibility that supply may not match demand.
There are currently low levels of wind power being generated in the electricity system.
In a statement, Eirgrid, the operator of the national electricity grid, said: "We have issued a System Alert due to low wind and solar and forced outages at a number of generators which has resulted in a reduced capacity to meet demand. We are working to resolve the issue."
