Just one quarter of people believe people with disabilities should be supported to make their own decisions according to a new survey.
The poll, from Safeguarding Ireland, also found that 75 percent of the public believe there should be stronger laws to protect those with disabilities.
The Charity has called on politicians to urgently progress the Adult Safeguarding Bill, which has been lying idle for four years.
