Investigation Into The Peter McVerry Trust Underway

The Charities Regulator has launched a statutory investigation into concerns around governance and finance related matters by the charity

This follows the news that housing and homelessness charity, Peter McVerry Trust, has seen the resignation of a second CEO this year.

Francis Doherty tendered his resignation to the charity's board yesterday, after less than five months in charge, citing an "imminent financial collapse" of the organisation.

Pat Doyle was CEO for 19 years before that.

The Peter McVerry Trust says it's disappointed with his decision and that its focus is on the future.

Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien says he's still trying to find out what exactly happened at the organisation:
