Housing Targets For 2024 Not Met

Despite a document outlining doubts on housing data, the outgoing coalition claimed output would exceed Housing for All pledge.

Last Summer, former minister for housing Darragh O'Brien was sent a forecast from BNP Paribas projection that delivery would be between 30 and 33 thousand in 2024, according to The Irish Times.

Political projections of up to 40 thousand homes were then missed, with just over 30 thousand completed.

Political Correspondent with The Irish Times, Jack Horgan-Jones says there was no reason for the Government to make such promises.
