They were suffering from hypothermia and are lucky to be alive.

Pet owners are being urged to spay or neuter their cats to prevent unwanted litters.

The call from the ISPCA comes after five kittens were found dumped in a cage outside its centre in Co. Longford.

A staff member says the kittens were suffering from hypothermia and are lucky to be alive.

The animals, named Adele, Gavin, Tiffany, Austin and Dylan, are being cared for at the centre and will be rehomed once they've recuperated.
