The high cost of cigarettes in Ireland has led to a rise in black market sales.
Nearly 63 million euro worth of illegal cigarettes have been seized since the beginning of last year.
Revenue recovered 32.8 million euro worth in 2020, and 30 million in the first nine months of this year.
It costs 15 euro for most packets of cigarettes, which has led to to a rise in black market sales.
However, Fine Gael TD Alan Farrell is defending the government's decision to increase the prices in several budgets.
