A man who cleaned up the house where Keane Mulready-Woods is believed to have been murdered has been jailed for four years.
52-year-old Gerard McKenna, of Rathmullen Park in Drogheda, Co Louth, said he only agreed to do it because he was in fear of his child being killed if he didn’t.
It’s believed Keane Mulready-Woods was murdered in Gerard McKenna’s council house in Drogheda sometime after his last confirmed sighting on January 12th 2020.
When gardai searched the house, they were met with a strong smell of fresh paint and it looked like a new floor had been put down in the living area.
A bloodstained couch had also been removed.
McKenna admitted letting a gang use his home, but denied knowing what they wanted it for.
He insisted that he only agreed to clean it up afterwards for fear his child would be killed.
Before sentencing him, the judge said he didn’t appear to care what they did in his home, but just didn’t expect it to be murder.
It was accepted that he knew, or at least believed, that Keane had been murdered there when he set about cleaning the scene and removing evidence from it.
