Dept. To Release Documents On Defunct Zappone UN Appointment Today.

Its ahead of the Minister's appearance before the Oireachtas committee, on which sits 2 Kildare TDs, tomorrow.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is expected to release documents later on the now defunct appointment of Katherine Zappine as a UN Special Envoy.

It comes ahead of Minister Simon Coveney's appearance before the Oireachtas Committee Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee tomorrow to answer further questions on the controversy.

Kildare TDs, Fianna Fáil's James Lawless and Independent Cathal Berry, are members of the committee.

The Taoiseach at the weekend a "comprehensive" release of documents would bring "clarity" to the matter.
