Daniel Kinahan has been remanded in custody after being extradited from the United Arab Emirates and charged before the Special Criminal Court.
Daniel Kinahan has spent the night in Portlaoise Prison following his extradition from Dubai to Ireland.
The 49-year-old is charged with directing activities of a criminal organisation between October 2015 and April 2017.
He was brought before the Special Criminal Courts following his arrival in Dublin yesterday as part of a high-security operation.
Kinahan's next court appearance has been set for 5th of October, with a decision not yet made on whether he'll attend in person.
