Irish Council for Civil Liberties feels new rules should not be rushed

A civil rights group says it has serious concerns about the government's plans to fast-track emergency legislation to reopen indoor dining.

Proposals to ease the restriction between July 19th and 26th will be put to Cabinet on Tuesday, along with a plan to only allow access to those who're vaccinated or recovered.

The Taoiseach says draft legislation will also be needed and is being worked ahead of the Dail's summer recess.

Executive Director with the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, Liam Herrick, says the plan raises serious discrimination issues and any new laws cannot be rushed:
