An appeal against Ireland's first ever supervised injection centre has been rejected.
An Coimisiún Pleanala has dismissed the appeal against planning permission being granted for the permanent operation of the Merchants Quay Ireland facility in Dublin city centre.
There has been calls for the expansion of safe injection sites for drug users, with CEO of Merchant Quay Ireland Eddie Mullins saying that there are plans to grow the service.
The facility has had over 18,000 visits since it opened at the end of 2024.
