Other projects are scheduled for completion before that work can begin.
A playground won't be provided for Ballymore Eustace for some years yet.
That's as at least two other Kildare play area projects in the county are scheduled for completion before work on the Ballymore scheme can begin.
KCC says it received €16,000 to up-grade the existing Newbridge town playground, until a government grant programme for natural play areas.
Responding to questions by Naas Municipal District Fine Gael Cllr., Evie Sammon, it says "we still plan to upgrade Monread Park playground as part of developing a design to upgrade the park and to provide a playground in Ballymore Eustace over the next few years."
