Women's Aid launches a new campaign.
Women's aid is launching its 'Too Into You Campaign' on social media, aimed at young women aged 18 to 25.
A survey carried out by Women's Aid has found a fifth of young women aged 18 to 25 have experienced intimate relationship abuse.
It means they have been abused physically, emotionally, sexually or even online by a current or former partner.
Of those, around half will have experienced a form of abuse for the first time by their 18th birthday.
Some 84% of young people said the abuse had a severe impact on them.
The 'Too Into You Campaign' is aimed at highlighting red flags for young women who may be in abusive relationships.
Women's Aid is encouraging people to do a health check on their relationships.
CEO of Women's Aid, Sarah Benson, spoke on Monday morning's Kildare Today:
"Research is telling us it is happening at a very young age, some under the age of 18 and in their first relationship.
"We need to talk about this and educate young men.
"Some men believe their behaviour to be normal.
"Stigma that undermines speaking out.
"Have an open conversation, and ask people how they are, encourage people to speak out.
"Call out casual sexism and behaviour," she said.
