Much of the town was without water until the early hours of this morning, because of a separate incident.
There's another water outage in Newbridge today.
It follows on from a wide-spread outage, caused when a private contractor ruptured a main, which affected a very significant proportion of the town.
Morristown Cross, Byrnes Cross, Hill of Allen, Milltown, Barretstown Road, Roseberry Hill, Newbridge and surrounding areas were impacted.
That was resolved in the early hours of this morning.
Now, Kildare County Council says, a main serving Chapel Lane has ruptured.
Supply to all estates and schools from the Bridge in Newbridge out to Wyeth Roundabout are affected.
Repairs began at 11.30am, and are due for completion at around 2pm.
It could take up to three hours for the system to refill, and for normal supply to resume, after that
