A 1,000 pupil building is to be constructed on The Curragh.
Negotiations on purchase of a site for Kildare's newest secondary school are continuing.
Plans to deliver a 1,000 pupil school there were unveiled in December 2018.
Officials from the Department of Education are in advanced negotiation with a landowner.
A site identification process began in June, 2019.
Education Minister, Norma Foley says "while a site acquisition process is underway, given the commercial sensitivities associated with land acquisitions generally I am not in a position to comment further at this time".
