Seven New Special Education Classes Sanctioned For Kildare

The allocation was confirmed today as part of the first national tranche of special classes for the 2026–2027 school year.

Seven new special education classes have been sanctioned for schools across Kildare.

The allocation was confirmed today as part of the first national tranche of special classes for the 2026-2027 school year.

A total of 168 new classes have been approved for 159 schools nationwide - with seven of them in Kildare: 

St. Anne's, Ardclough; Scoil Mochua, Celbridge; Gaelscoil Uí Fhiaich, Maynooth; St. Evin's NS, Monasterevin; Killashee MD National School; Gaelscoil Nás na Ríogh; and Naas CBS.

Fianna Fail Kildare North TD Naoise Ó Cearúil said up to 50 children will benefit from the additional allocation.
