A total of 168 new classes have been approved for 159 schools nationwide - with seven of them in Kildare:
St. Anne's, Ardclough; Scoil Mochua, Celbridge; Gaelscoil Uí Fhiaich, Maynooth; St. Evin's NS, Monasterevin; Killashee MD National School; Gaelscoil Nás na Ríogh; and Naas CBS.
Fianna Fail Kildare North TD Naoise Ó Cearúil said up to 50 children will benefit from the additional allocation.
