Reverse Vending Maching Programme May Be Coming To Kildare Newbridge MD.

KCC is organising a pilot in Naas.

A reverse vending machine scheme could be rolled-out in the Kildare Newbridge Municipal District.

A pilot project in Naas is being organised by Kildare County Council in Naas.

People who return certain kinds of plastic bottles to these machines can receive a small voucher for local retailers.

It aims to encourage recycling.

Social Democrats Cllr., Chris Pender, wants KCC to confirm the status of the pilot, and whether the initiative could travel to Kildare Newbridge.

The motion will be debated at the September meeting of the MD.
