Castletown House and Parklands reopened earlier this year
Castletown House and Parklands will have a new cultural programme this year, featuring musical performances, talks and exhibitions to share with visitors.
The programme was announced by Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW, Kevin 'Boxer' Moran.
Highlights include a special concert by the Royal Irish Academy of Music, performances by the acclaimed Beartla Ó Flatharta Céilí Band and an illustrated lecture by historian Adrian Tinniswood, who said: " I encourage everyone to come and enjoy these events over the coming months”.
A focal point of the cultural programme is the ‘Special concert by the Royal Irish Academy of Music’ (RIAM), to be held in the Hunting Room.
A lecture by historian Adrian Tinniswood, entitled: ‘The Guinness Family Homes’ explores the architectural legacy and social history of the Guinness family.
The cultural programme also includes guided tours, art exhibitions and performances by local artists.
These events are designed to bring together a compelling blend of music and history, making Castletown House and Parklands a cultural destination throughout the summer months.
