The hospital says the restrictions are being enforced due to high levels of Flu and Covid in the community
Due to high levels of COVID-19 and flu in the community, visiting restrictions are currently being implemented in Naas General Hospital.
The hospital asks:
- There is strictly one visit per day from one person only
- Visits are no longer than 30 minutes
- Visiting Times: Monday – Sunday: 2pm - 4pm & 6pm - 8pm (one per day, 30 minutes max)
Visitors must:
- Check in with Security
- Wear a surgical face mask
- Use hand gel
- Keep social distancing
- Not attend if you have any cold/flu/COVID symptoms
Visiting Moate ward is on a compassionate basis only, staff will continue to liaise with individuals and families to accommodate this.
For up-to-date guidelines on visiting patients at each hospital, please visit the website.
The Emergency Department has been experiencing a high level of attendance and admissions in recent days.
Where possible management is asking patients with non-emergency conditions to seek assistance from other parts of the health service such as their local Pharmacist, Minor Injury Clinics, GP, or the GP out-of-hours service.
Unfortunately, patients who are presenting at the Emergency Departments with non-urgent conditions may experience long waiting times to be seen.
Any patient who needs emergency hospital care will be seen and we would urge such patients not to delay attending the ED. Do not delay in seeking medical attention if you suspect you are having a heart attack or stroke, please dial 999 or 112 in an emergency.
The hospital is reminding the public if they have to attend the ED in an emergency situation please ensure:
- you wear a mask
- practice social distancing and ensure you tell the triage personnel if you have any signs/symptoms of COVID-19
