The line, accessible on 1800 816 588, is operated by the Men's Development Network.
It says there's been a particular rise in contacts by men over the age of 60.

Roisin Davies, speaking to Kildare Today, says men can be reluctant to reach out for support.
She says that could be because men in this situation may not recognise the behaviours they are a subjective to are abusive.
