The funding is aimed at supporting projects that leverage the strengths of the local area.
Projects operating in Kildare, particularly in the municipal districts of Athy and Clane-Maynooth, are now eligible to apply for up to €1 million in funding under a new Just Transition funding call.
The funding, provided through the EU Just Transition Fund (JTF), is aimed at supporting projects that leverage the strengths of the local area, address specific community needs, and create new job opportunities or enhance the sustainability of existing jobs across the county.
The JTF was established to assist regions and communities in Europe most affected by the transition to climate neutrality, ensuring a socio-economic shift that leaves no one behind.
In Kildare, eligible projects must align with the 'Local Economic and Community Plans' of the county, with the application deadline set for 30 September.
