Kildare And Meath Record Highest EV Sales

Meath and Kildare are the EV capitals of the country.

The highest sales of electric cars are in 4 commuter belt counties, with Wicklow, Laois, Kildare and Meath coming out on top, according to DoneDeal's Car Marketplace.

However diesel's are still the favourite in Leitrim, Mayo, Monaghan, Cavan and Roscommon.

Hybrid cars are the number one fuel type selling cars in the country, according to the study.

EV sales are up by 54% year on year.

Kildare recorded a 62% increase in EV registrations, according to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.
