Potential line for Kilcock
Kildare County Council has been asked to request the National Transport Authority attend a meeting of the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District.
Fine Gael Cllr. Tim Durkan wants the authority to discuss the provision of a dual Dart line for Kilcock.
Currently, Kilcock is a single platform station.
Iarnród Éireann has previously stated the continuation of the service to the town "would require construction of double track into along a very narrow railway corridor, necessary overbridge modifications and the reconstruction of Kilcock Station to provide the necessary train infrastructure."
The rail service added, "This would present significant difficulties at the station and be disruptive to Kilcock town centre."
The monthly meeting of Clane-Maynooth MD is due to take place on Friday, 3rd September.
