Its because of mounting backlogs in parts of Kildare.
Kildare County ouncil is being asked to consider outsourcing some elements of its grant approvals schemes, because of mounting delays.
Housing inspections are required as part of the process of application for Housing Adaptation Grants for older people, and Housing Adapation Grants for people with disabilities.
Both schemes are designed to help people to modify their homes in accordance with their needs.
Fine Gael Cllr., Tim Durkan, says a "backlog" in the Clane Maynooth Municipal District.
He wants KCC to outsource the inspections element, in order to speed up approval and payment of the applications.
His motion will be debated at the Friday meeting of the MD.
