According to figures 21 patients are waiting for a bed in Naas General Hospital.

Hospitals nationwide are continuing to face significant pressures, with some areas advising patients to seek alternative treatments before attending the emergency department.

According to INMO Trolley Watch, 769 people were waiting for a bed across the country as of this morning.

Dr Vida Hamilton, Clinical Lead for the HSE South East, outlines some of the respiratory conditions contributing to the high volume of patients.
