Formal announcement took place in Kildare this morning.
Gardai, at a launch in Kildare, have confirmed that the mobility app system is being extended to every Division in Ireland.
The Kildare Division is among those in which the system, used by Roads Policing Units and at checkpoints, was trialled.
It enables Gardai to detect, in real time, where vehicles are taxed, insured, or if the motorist is disqualified.
It also speeds up the issuing of fines and penalty points.
100,000 tickets for motoring offences have been issued by Gardai, nationwide, using the mobile devices in the last year.
Naas Roads Policing Unit were conducting speed checks in Kildare this Sunday when they found this car travelling over the 50kph speed limit. Using the #MobilityApp, it was found that the driver was an unaccompanied learner.
