The update has emerged this evening
Kfm understands that a contract has now been signed between the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and Pastures New Ltd. for a Ukrainian refugee arrival centre to be constructed at Flood's Cross in Newhall, Naas.
Earlier today, we reported that it was Kildare County Council's view that a contract had not yet been signed.
The Council is reported to have engaged solicitors, who are believed to have issued pre-litigation letters to the landowner and developer.
However, sources have now told Kfm that a contract has been signed and work at the site will continue.
It's estimated that up to 950 Ukrainian refugees will be accommodated at the facility, once complete.
