ESB Networks Braced For Disruptions As Yellow Wind Warning Issued For Kildare

The Yellow warning for wind may lead to some damage to power lines, and crews will be quickly scrambled to make the network safe if necessary.

ESB repair crews have advised locals that they'll be on standby this weekend, as they monitor the weather and its potential impact on the electricity network.

Met Eireann is warning of localised flooding, travel disruption and fallen trees as Storm Bert makes landfall.

A Status Yellow alert for wind and rain is in place for the entire country from 10 o clock tonight.

From midnight, a Status Orange rain warning will kick in for Cork, Kerry and Galway.
