John Gibbons was stranded near Kilcullen
An Environmental Journalist has blasted the ESB for it's unreliable, out of date charging system for electric cars.
It's after John Gibbons found himself stranded near Kilcullen yesterday afternoon.
Stuck near Kilcullen at @ESBNetworks EV charging point. Two of the 3 units here not working. Called ESB helpline & they say they’ll have someone look at it on MONDAY.

Ireland’s EV charging “network” is not fit for purpose pic.twitter.com/RYkuoU7KiE
He says two of the three chargers there were out of action, and not due to be inspected until Monday.
John says that could easily put someone off buying an Electric Car when they don't have a charger at their home
John says issues like this need to be fixed, or public confidence in the system will be irreparably broken
Got away eventually, when the fast charger became vacant. I love my EV, we deserve a proper (self financing) charging network
