TD Mark Wall has confirmed the allocation for Monasterevin Fire Station.
€3 million has been allocated to Monasterevin Fire Station.
Kildare County Council had reached an agreement to develop a fire station site located within the curtilage of the recently acquired Moore Abbey lands, in Monasterevin.
Kildare South TD Mark Wall confirmed the allocation.
In a recent Newbridge-Kildare MD meeting, a question was raised by Sinn Féin Councillor Noel Connolly asking if the council could outline an expected timeline for the provision of a new Fire Station in Monasterevin.
It's understood, the council had written to the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management requesting to be considered for inclusion on the next round of capital funding
Separately, over €320million will be invested in the nation's fire services over the next five years.
The Department of Housing says 39 stations will be newly built or significantly improved at a cost of 180 million.
It's also set aside funding for fire appliances, water tankers and refurbishment of existing facilities.
