The grants were announced by the Government earlier this morning
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, and Minister of State for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity, Christopher O’Sullivan, have announced the 122 projects that will be awarded €7.5 million in funding under the 2025 Community Monuments Fund.
These grants help owners and custodians of archaeological monuments to safeguard them into the future.
The awards granted comprise more than €276,389 for four projects in Kildare.
The Community Monuments Fund supports a range of initiatives to conserve, maintain, protect and promote local monuments and historic sites.
The County Kildare projects are:
€120,000 for Moone Abbey Tower
€100,000 for Laraghbryan Church in Maynooth
€26,390 for the Round Tower in Kildare Town
€30,000 for Donadea Castle
